PUBLIC TRAFFIC NOTICE

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE TO THROUGH TRAFFIC & PEDESTRIANS

The Central Bank of The Bahamas is scheduled to, imminently, commence demolition works at the old Post Office and Royal Victoria Gardens sites. To facilitate safe and proper execution of these demolition works and ensure safety to the general public, it is necessary to close a portion of East Hill Street from regular vehicular traffic and pedestrians for a portion of the demolition.

Access will be provided in the event of emergencies, including passage by emergency vehicles.

Date of Closure #1: 17th November 2020 to 20th November 2020

Date of Closure #2: 30th November 2020 to 2nd December 2020

Date of Closure #3: 9th December 2020 to 17th December 2020

Time of Closure: 7:00am to 6:00pm

Closed Road: East Hill Street (between East Street and Parliament Street)

Detour:

Vehicles/pedestrians travelling north on East Street to west on East Hill Street will be diverted to west on Shirley Street then south on Market Street or Pecks Slope.

Vehicles/pedestrians travelling south on Pecks Slope to east on East Hill Street will be limited to Post Office west property boundary.

Vehicles/pedestrians travelling west on Shirley Street to south on East Street to west on East Hill Street will be diverted to continue west on Shirley Street then south on Market Street or Pecks Slope.

Detour:

Vehicles/pedestrians travelling west on Shirley Street to south on Parliament Street will be diverted to continue west on Shirley Street then south on Market Street or Pecks Slope.

NOTE: Road will be open to public vehicular traffic outside of working hours
