The Central Bank Congratulates the 2022 Financial Literacy Video Essay Competition Winners

The Central Bank of The Bahamas congratulates the students who distinguished themselves in the 2022 Get Money Smart Bahamas Financial Literacy Video Essay Competition. 

In its third year, the Competition engaged students from public and private institutions across The Bahamas, from the primary school level, up to university enrollment.  The competition continued to deliver on its main goal of promoting more research on topics of relevance to the Bahamian economy, and improved outcomes for financial literacy.  The 2022 video essay competition attracted over 70 entries. This year’s theme was:

“Are Foreign Exchange Controls Still Relevant for The Bahamas?”

The Central Bank is pleased to recognise outstanding scholars in the following categories:

PRIMARY SCHOOL (Grades 4-6)

A five-member panel of judges reviewed the entries. These were Ms. Tanya McCartney, CEO, Bahamas Financial Services Board; Mr. Rupert Pinder, Economist; Ms. Latoya Smith, Senior Advisor, IMF Executive Board; Ms. Nahaja Black, Economist; Mr. Ian Fernander, Retired Employee of the Central Bank of The Bahamas.

The Central Bank looks forward to engaging with scholars again in 2023.
