Removal of Entries from the United Nations Security Council Sanctions Lists for ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida and Iraq

 

Pursuant to Section 3A of the International Obligations (Economic & Ancillary Measures) Amendment Act, 2019, supervised financial institutions (“SFIs”) and the general public are hereby informed that the United Nations Security Council (“UN Security Council”) has updated its Sanctions List as follows:

For Information:

Removal of Two Entries from the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List (3rd March, 2022)

Removal of Seven Entries from the Iraq Sanctions List (3rd March, 2022)

Therefore, the asset freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council Resolution 2610 (2021) (for ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida) and the freeze on financial assets and/or economic resources set out in paragraph 23 (a) and (b) of Security Council Resolution 1483 (2003) (for Iraq) no longer apply to these individuals.
