The Central Bank is pleased to release for consultation, the following draft legislation, which have been prepared to provide the legal framework for the Central Bank’s supervision of payment systems in The Bahamas, the operation of those systems and the regulation of payment instruments: Payment Systems Act, Payment Systems (Oversight) Regulations & National Payments Committee Byelaws

The Central Bank invites comments on the proposed legislation. Comments should be forwarded by January 8th, 2010 to the Policy Unit, in the Bank Supervision Department at the following email address: [email protected].
