The Central Bank Congratulates the 2021 Financial Literacy

Video Essay Competition Winners

The Central Bank of The Bahamas congratulates the young scholars who distinguished themselves in the 2021 Get Money Smart Bahamas Financial Literacy Video Essay Competition. This was the second year of the competition for students enrolled in primary, junior and senior schools in The Bahamas. Students continued to demonstrate exceptional creativity and preparation for their essays. The competition delivered on its main goals of promoting increased research on topics relevant to the Bahamian economy and improved outcomes for financial literacy. The 2021 video essay competition attracted over 70 entries from students enrolled in public and private schools across The Bahamas. This year's theme was:

“The Bahamian economy is an ideal model for digital financial services.”

The Central Bank is pleased to recognise outstanding scholars in the following categories:

PRIMARY SCHOOL (Grades 4-6)

These entries will be published on the Central Bank’s social media pages.

A six-member panel of judges reviewed the entries. These were Ms. Tanya McCartney, CEO, Bahamas Financial Services Board; Mr. Gowon Bowe, CEO, Fidelity Bank Ltd., Ms. Latoya Smith, Senior Advisor, IMF Executive Board, Ms. Nahaja Black, Economist and Journalist, Mr. Ian Fernander, Capital Development Manager, Central Bank of The Bahamas, and Mr. Ulrich Voges, Art Curator, Central Bank of The Bahamas.

The Central Bank looks forward to engaging with scholars again in 2022.
