NEW CASH AND DATA CENTRE

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

MATERIAL HANDLING SYSTEM (MHS) BID NOTICE

16th December, 2022

On 12th December, 2022, the Central Bank of The Bahamas released a request for proposal (RFP) for its Cash and Data Centre’s Material Handling System (MHS). Due to its highly sensitive nature, the RFP document will not be published to the Bank’s website.

The RFP details specifications for a MHS, which is considered core to an efficient, safe, and secure cash operation. The scope of work includes the design, development, fabrication, installation, acceptance testing, and post-installation support for a fully integrated material storage, handling, retrieval, transport, and control system.

As the MHS is a highly specialized integrated network with enhanced security features, four global vendors were invited to participate based on their experience with similar projects and recognized expertise and qualifications. Hence, Invitation to Bid Letters were issued to: Schaefer Systems International Inc., Dematic North America, Swisslog Logistics, and G+D Currency Technology, which all underwent a stringent prequalification exercise and signed Non-Disclosure Agreements in order to participate.

The Central Bank will announce the successful bidder at the end of the process. The Central Bank’s Tenders Committee may be reached at [email protected].
