Financial Literacy Student Seminar 2026
As Financial Literacy Month begins, Central Bank of The Bahamas (the Central Bank) is pleased to announce the upcoming Financial Literacy Student Seminar (the Seminar), scheduled for 20 April 2026 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Baha Mar Convention Centre.
Held under the theme, "Finance Forward: Smart Money Moves Start Now", the Seminar is a key element of the Central Bank's month of activities, as well as its ongoing commitment to community outreach and financial education. The event is designed to strengthen financial literacy and encourage positive financial behaviours among Bahamian youth through engaging, interactive, and immersive learning experiences.
Participants will benefit from sessions covering a wide range of topics, including:
- The role of the Central Bank;
- Bahamian notes, coins and digital currency;
- Cyber safety;
- Building a small business;
- Investing basics;
- And more.
Participation Details:
- Schools are invited to nominate up to 30 students between grades 10 to 12. Submissions from parents or guardians will not be considered.
- Each group may be accompanied by two to three teachers or other school representative.
- Students are encouraged to bring mobile devices or tablets to support interactive activities.
- Invitations are extended to both Independent and Government High Schools throughout The Bahamas.
The Seminar will also be live-streamed for students on the Family Islands who are unable to attend in-person.
