36th Annual Art Competition and Exhibition, 2019 - Junior and High School Category

The Central Bank of The Bahamas is proud to announce the 36th Annual Junior and High-School Competition and Exhibition to be held from November 7 to December 6, 2019. The objectives of the competition are to identify, recognize, and encourage young Bahamians who demonstrate talent in the visual arts.

Requirements for participation: To qualify, participants must be citizens of The Bahamas, who are currently enrolled in secondary school or a 2019 graduate, and not involved in commercial sales of artwork.

Theme: "We are the ones we’ve been waiting for". You are the future of our country. What is your vision about our people and our environment? Make an impact with your artworks!

Quantity: Each participant must submit three (3) works (no more, no less) of one of the following media: Painting • Sculpture • Drawing • Print • Photography • Collage • Film/Video • Digital Media. Submissions have to be accompanied by a brief description (pdf).

• The deadline for submitting applications and entries to the Central Bank of The Bahamas is no later than Friday, October 25th, 2019, at 5:00 PM.
• Late entries will NOT be accepted.

NB:

• Entries submitted on time will be judged, however, only works of the highest quality and presented in accordance with the guidelines will be exhibited. Works not exhibited will be stored for 10 days after opening of the exhibition's opening. The Central Bank of The Bahamas will not be responsible for works left beyond this period.
• All artworks must be collected from the Central Bank of The Bahamas within 10 days after the exhibition's end.
