Consultation Paper on the Bank Resolution Framework

The Central Bank of The Bahamas has released a Consultation Paper on its Proposals to enhance the existing bank resolution framework of The Bahamas. The Central Bank proposes to amend the Banks and Trust Companies Regulation Act, 2000, the Protection of Depositors Act, 1999 and the Protection of Depositors Byelaws, 1999. The Consultation Paper provides an overview of key provisions of the Draft Banks and Trust Companies Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2018, the Protection of Depositors (Amendment) Bill, 2018 and the Protection of Depositors (Amendment) Byelaws, 2018. These draft Bills may be found in the Annexes to the Consultation Paper.
